| Upper Loose
Valley |
|
| South of
Bockingford Lane the valley becomes wider and the land use changes from
industrial/residential to largely agricultural grassland. There are
residential areas, but these are located around the mill ponds and are in
many cases converted mills or mill-workers' cottages.. |

The Loose Stream
continues to divide the Valley in this central section and is
broken by a number of mill ponds. The western side of the Valley forms
part of Pympes Court Farm, which is grazed by cattle. |
| The eastern
side of the Valley starts as heavily grazed horse pasture. It then becomes
a series of long narrow fields bordered by scrub/woodland on the upper edges
of the Valley, which are very lightly grazed by cattle. This section of
the Valley is owned by the Loose Amenities Association and is managed purely for
wildlife, landscape and recreation. |
